Hooray we had our first harvest to eat out of the garden. We had leaf lettuce, spinach, basil, onions and a baby carrot that was too small to eat but so cute. I had planted the spinach from seed but didn’t think it was going to take. Well I went to take a look and there were about four heads coming up around the squash and cantaloupe so we picked and had a great salad. Next year I will know a little better about spacing and timing. The spinach did great in the shade of the peas. We were gone last week on vacation and I couldn’t believe the growth while we were gone. Thanks to Pop and our friends for keeping the garden watered!
