June was a busy month as well. Mike and I had the opportunity to go on a mission trip to Greece with 10 other people from our church. Mike played guitar on the worship team. The missionaries from Central and Eastern Europe came together to meet and be refreshed. It was a wonderful opportunity to offer them a worship time in their native language of English. We also got to sit under the wonderful teaching of Andy Davis as he preached through Colossians. We were able to eat meals with and encourage some families while there. I was able to hang out with one of my mentors from Chile. It was so great to see the Hawkins family and to take them goodies. One of my favorite things (duffy) was a “pampering” session that we had for about 20 of the ladies. The five ladies from Grace offered them manicures and pedicures. It was so great to wash their feet, paint their nails and hear their stories.
Mike and I did have time to hang by the pool and visit a couple of little villages as well as Athens for one day. It was really cool to go back to the same place after three years and reflect on what the Lord has done in our lives the past three years. He is faithful to continue the work He starts in us. It was really a great trip for everyone on our team. See the pictures.
While we were gone the girls stayed with Mike’s parents and MiMi and Papa. I think they all had a good time. Courtney had a little trouble because she didn’t understand why Mommy wasn’t coming home. Natalie learned to put her head under water and started to swim thanks to her big cousin Shane. She is really growing up and having so much fun this summer.
I hope to get some pics of Greece up very soon.
hey duffy!! I’m so glad your trip went well for everyone involved! looking forward to seeing pictures…what a great idea to give the ladies some spa treatment š I’m sure they were excited and appreciative of being pampered–some great r&r!
working on toby in the pool–he’s not sure what to think! he’s looking like such a little boy now! working on his fifth tooth and saying ‘uh-oh’ and ‘yeah!’ randomly, though it sounds like he actually understands. where does the time go? I can’t believe how quickly he changes!! miss you! xo,m
